Make

10 Feb

Make‘ is a brand new craft cafe that has recently opened on the lovely Albert Road. It will be running a range of different workshops  by local people, teaching a variety of crafty activities. It is a lovely bright and airy workspace with a massive craft table, several sewing machines and also a cosy corner where you can drink tea, eat cake and work on your latest project! Perfect!

This Saturday they ran a Valentines taster session between 1-3pm. So I went along to check it out. I dragged my slightly begrudging husband along and made him get stuck in!

He made a pixel art heart keyring with the help of the talented Eyecandy.

At the same time I was taught by my lovely friend Georgina Giles how to make a woven felt heart. It was a lovely way to spend an hour of my Saturday.

This Wednesday evening between 7pm-9pm they are holding an open craft night. You pay £3 to eat cake, drink tea and work on your latest project. I for one will be going! If you live locally and fancy a couple of hours of crafty goodness, why not pop along and show them your support?

This Sunday I will be back at The Guildhall Boutique Market! woohoo!  It has taken a break over the summer but is coming back with a vengeance this weekend, with over 50 stalls selling some awesome handmade and vintage goodies it’s set to be a great day.

I have been busy crafting some new bits and pieces including button rings and also felt and button flowers which I hope will prove to be a hit.

Button rings and button hearts!

I have also been working on the look and image of my stall. It’s so much harder than it looks! Some crafter’s make it look so easy with their stalls looking effortlessly pretty and inviting, and it is something I always admire ( and envy!!) I have never been completely happy with the ‘look’ of my stall and so I have been playing around with new colours and display stands.  I am always over critical of my work so will never be completely happy, but I think I am almost there…almost.

So if you are free Sunday I hope to see you there at The Guildhall in Portsmouth from 11am – 3pm. (it’s FREE ENTRY!)

It’s Chrrriiiistmasss!!!…well almost…x

Guildhall Boutique Market

14 Aug

Yay! So I have applied for a table at Guildhall Boutique Market, all I need to do I send of my deposit and off we go! Looking to do it in September, so I’ve had to get cracking! I’ve been busy making more aprons and all sorts of little bits and bobs. It’s all very exciting! Ill be sharing the stall with my lovely friend Lucy Ball who is a keen maker of scrumptious cupcakes. I think its going to be hard to not eat them all before she gets to sell any!

I’m loving the half aprons, they are quite addictive to make, but I’ve also enjoyed getting my crochet hooks out and growing beautiful crochet flowers that can be worn as headbands, bracelets and brooches. A girl can never have too many flowers. I’m thinking the headbands and hair bobbles are more suited to young children, so hopefully they can persuade their mummy’s to part with a few pound pennies!

I have also just made my first ever quilt. It’s not massive but will fit a cot or decorate the end of a single bed, but that’s a whole other blog!

But anyway just wanted to update on what I’ve been up to. I’ll keep you all informed about the market! xxx
